Kirk Jones

Kirk Jones, also known as the “Niagara Falls Daredevil,” is a man who is known for surviving a plunge over Niagara Falls without any safety equipment. On October 20, 2003, Jones became the first person to survive a plunge over the Horseshoe Falls, the largest of the three waterfalls that make up Niagara Falls, without any safety equipment.

Jones, who was 40 years old at the time, climbed over a fence and went over the falls in a large plastic ball. He survived the fall with only minor injuries and was charged with performing an illegal stunt, and was sentenced to a fine and community service.

However, Jones’ stunt was met with criticism from many who believed that it was not only dangerous but also disrespectful to the power of the falls. The Niagara Parks Police warned that the falls are not a playground and that anyone who attempts to go over the falls without proper safety equipment is putting their life at risk.

Jones’ stunt also inspired others to try to replicate it, which led to several deaths and injuries. Due to this, the Niagara Parks Commission has increased security measures in the area to prevent people from attempting to go over the falls without proper safety equipment.
