The Hare Wine Co.

The Hare Wine Co. is one of the new wineries in the Niagara-on-the-Lake area. However, the owners respect the winemaking traditions for which this part of the Niagara Peninsula is known. The winery is engaged in the production of high-quality table wines and ice wines.

The working hours are from 10 a.m. up to 8 p.m., and in the cold months from October to May, when tourists decrease is up to 6 p.m.

In addition to special events such as weddings and corporate gatherings, the winery also hosts the Spring Market Made in Canada, as well as live music concerts.

Tastings cost $10 or $15, depending on whether you want to try three or four wines. However, if you buy two bottles of wine or merchandise for more than $50, the amount paid for the tasting is refundable.

The vineyards are spread over 10 acres of fertile soil, and the symbol of the winery – the hare (and the surname of the owner) is also a symbol of fertility. In fact, owner John Hare has not always dreamed of a future in winemaking, but afterlife meets him with the daughter of a winemaker, it turns out that this is his destiny.
