Where to call in case of emergency

In case of an emergency in the Niagara Falls region, regardless if you are on the Canadian or United States side, you should dial the following emergency numbers:

In Canada:

  • For immediate police, fire, or medical assistance, dial: 9-1-1.
  • For non-emergencies or general inquiries, you can contact the Niagara Regional Police Service at: (905) 688-4111.

In the United States:

  • For immediate police, fire, or medical assistance, dial: 9-1-1.
  • For non-emergencies or general inquiries, you can contact the Niagara Falls Police Department at: (716) 286-4547.

Remember, the 9-1-1 service should only be used in cases of immediate need where health, safety, or property is in jeopardy or a crime is in progress. For non-urgent situations, use the non-emergency numbers.

If you’re visiting from another country, make sure you have travel insurance and know the number for your embassy or consulate in case of emergencies as well.
