Marynissen Estate is known as the oldest winery for Cabernet Sauvignon in Canada. Today the winery is one of the favorite places of connoisseurs.
With a history dating back to 1976, manufacturers rely on quality in more limited quantities.
It is also interesting that the owner of the winery John Marynissen was among the first to start their business with the planting of a special grape variety vinifera – an action that was accepted with skepticism by other winemakers. In the end, he managed to develop the distinctive feature of his business in this way.
The winery hosts various events such as Wine and Chocolate Day in February, Taste the Season in November, and others. It is also a member of the Niagara Winery Association.
Wine deliveries are currently only possible in the province of Ontario. The other option is to visit the winery’s live store.
The winery is open 7 days a week with the following opening hours:
- From May till October from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- From November to April, when the tourist season isn`t at its peak, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The fee for tasting one wine is $2 and if you want to try 3 wines it is $5.
Marynissen Estate Winery is a small winery, but with extremely distinctive features. Visiting it will make you feel like part of their big family.
